New Jewelry Designs! Sharing their work for this show are Carol Evans and Nathalie Davis. Nathalie’s delicate hand-hammered, silver chain designs have been recognized nationally. Each piece crafted has a contemporary, modern edge yet is extremely feminine in nature. Carol designs jewelry that does not follow common trends. Her signature style of layering delicate, wire wrapped beads with crystals and pearls is reminiscent of traditional rosaries. We are thrilled to show both artists for the first time in this area!
"3 Women" January 12-March 31, 2007You will not want to miss this special opportunity! Shiva is proud to be showing incredible female artists for our next show. Opening Reception, January 13th, 5pm-8pm We are excited to introduce Susan Kanfer, full time lawyer, and part time photographer. Susan has traveled the world and capturing the pulse of nature and man. Her photographs express the visceral, spiritual quality in nature that often leave us breathless. This is Susan's debut into the art world. Also introducing, Kris Estenger. Kris is a chemist by trade and a quilt maker by passion. Her profession allows her access to a variety of unusual materials, including fiberglass and Kevlar fabrics. She uses these and an artful combination of silks and satins with paints, inks and stitching to create "her own" fabric. Obsessed with sewing, fabrics and the creative process, she sets no rules. This will also be a debut showing for Kris. We are honored to host the inspiring mixed media work from Claire-Lisa Matthey Anderegg. Claire-Lise has a unique style that has been shown in galleries nation wide. Using both imagination and intuition she carefully blends layers of color, texture and personal symbols, to create pieces with personal depth and complexity. This is also a special opportunity to view the new work from local fiber artist, Michelle Hoffee. Michelle will be featured in the new Escondido Magazine, February issue.
